Do I move or don't I move?

Hi,
You may have answered this question a 1, 000 times before but is Qatar, and more specifically Doha, as good as you make it sound?
Is it the place to bring up my children?
I may be taking a position in a school but am unsure of lifestyle and costs. There appears large discrepancies between published traveller guides and internet sites. Could someone please write a list of relevant QR average prices?
Also, possibly:
The website for a reliable estate agent?
Website for a car dealership?
Thanks in advance. I very much look forward to your responses.
JB
I don't know what it is with this website but if you try to post a substantial post half of it disappears?
I wanted to add that housing can come unfurnished, semi furnished and fully furnished (this last seems the most often available) - and there are varying interpretations of all these - including whether ACs come with or you purchase separately
35QAR/beer is probably one of the cheaper prices - you can apply for an alcoholic permit if you company issues you a letter permitting you to buy at the one liquor outlet (and yes there are companies that don't issue them and it is illegal to have liquor on your person or in your home without one).
Check on here for an idea about housing prices - they can vary widely in price and quality. Once you have an idea you can ask about specific areas. With small children you would probably prefer a villa with some time of garden - again prices vary widely. Some prefer compound living which would probably give you access to a pool and gym.
If you are arranging your own accomodation be sure to inquire about utilities (included or not) appliances (included or not) ACs (included or not) and furnishings (included or not). If fully furnished many landlords will not allow you under any circumstances to make your own personal changes (i.e. removing the provided furniture and getting more appropriate - especially for children) and furniture to Western/European tastes is hard to find, expensive, and IMHO generally of poor quality (no IKEA).
Thank you MaryCatharine, and UKEngQatar, for your helpful comments. Rojivese I am not quite sure where you are coming from. Maybe it is the wonders of the impersonal nature of type but your comment appears strange, almost rude.
MaryCatherine, you are right the question was vague with details. I was just looking for a more conclusive and up to date list. I mean, food, to but and at a restaurant, appears reasonable but is it really QR35 for a beer?
It was just everyday costs I was looking at. Accommodation should be covered with the allowance. I may have to limit my expectations but it should be covered. Education and medical also covered.
Petrol looks cheaper than the UK. How is car insurance in comparison? I have not found that on a search.
I will have another look through the website but if I again don't find the answers I will try asking again.
Thanks in advance,
JB
Please don't move and stay where you are.........

Lifestyle? What is your lifestyle - do you sit at home and save all your money or do you go out and spend spend spend?
How old are your kids? Will their education be covered?
Do you have a job offer? What is included in the offer (provide accomodation, tickets, medical, etc.)
Asking about cost of lifestyle without giving some idea of what you need/want to enjoy is like asking how long is a piece of string.
As for car dealers and estate agents, many have websites so I'm sure if you google Toyota Doha Qatar you'll get the local dealer (don't expect any prices or what's available though - you will have to visit them, they might give info by email but doubtful)
