also women DO participate in sports... there is even a thread here where it's shown that a Qatari woman is wearing a leotard and performing public gymnastics. We don't live in the stone ages anymore :S

Indeed thats a long list of grocery shopping u want us to do...kiddin champ...here goes ur list...

a litre of milk: QR 10/-

- fuel: Cheaper than 1 ltr of Water: QR 0.80/-

- restaurant: Avg dinner for 2: Ranges from say QR 60/- - QR 150/-

- road tax: Nill but u do have Insurance Costs and Road Permit: Insurance is based on ur car and type where as Road Permit is generally QR 60/- only.

- car: again depends on the type ranging from starting 45,000/- QR - QR 90,000 is where an economical car falls in SUVs are slightly higher ranging till about 150,000/-

- membership to an expatriate club: Avg about QR 5,000/- per year

- arabic language course: No idea cud be QR 600/-

- running shoes: again depends on the brand: Ranging from 150 QR - 350 QR

- a suit: again depends on the brand ranging from about 200/- QR till 1000/-

- plates,glasses: quite minimal about 50/- for a set of 12 and vice-versa

- cinema: QR 30/- for a ticket

- mobile phone: QR 1500/- for a nice one and QTEL Connection is about QR 350/- so a total investment of QR 2000/- on the Mobile and Connectivity

- public buses: QR 2/- per ticket for wherever u travel...

And yea Sports is quite open for all...find urself some good playing partners and tag along as a team and register in the ongoing tournaments...

Phewww...thats a list...

WAW, many thanks for the quick responce.

Well I was an Italian figure skating champion 10 years ago so that is my number one sport. I play all sports, from football to tennis, sailing, volleyball, handball, badminton, swimming, diving, skiing. Everything. I love sport. I have competited in athletics, volleyball, basketball, tennis, swimming, mountain biking, skiing, handball.

i dont think women take part in profesional sports but they do take part in sporting competitions organised byt he local clubs and committees..

if you dont mind me asking..what sport do you play?>...

a litre of milk-5 riyals

- fuel- .80 riyals per litre

- restaurant-u have the entire range from indian to italian to chines and they cater to all budgets

- road tax-nil

- car-from 10k to 500000..qatar is a haven for car lovers...u can get any car to suit ur budget

- membership to an expatriate club-ranging from 2500 for rydges or oasis to 18000 for mariott and ritz

- arabic language course- imsure u can get that for free here

- running shoes-nike,rebok,adidas...ranging from 250 qr to the top of the range models..u can get other brands for less also

- a suit-no idea abt ladies suits

- plates,glasses-u get all kinda varieties and prices

- cinema-30 qr for a ticket

- mobile phone-200 riyals to 3000..again all ranges available

- public buses-6qr for a day pass but once u see the plight of the buses i sure u wudnt wanna travel by it and also not advisable for ladies..
