Compound Living?

Hi Everyone!

I am hoping to get feedback as to what the benefits of compound living are in Doha. Is it a bad idea to live outside of a compound with young children? I have heard compound life isn't for everyone, so would appreciate your thoughts.

Also, what costs are we looking at for a 3-4 bedroom apartment/townhouse/villa?

Thank you!

I live in a compound and like it. You must do your homework on the things you wont from any living environment in Doha, i.e can you ware a swim suit around the pool? I am told some you cannot. Make sure you take notes and pictures of places you look at, also check which costs are included or excluded in the rent. My compound is on the D ring road, we have excellent facilities and a good mix of British & American along with many other nationalities. In the summer I can walk around in shorts and T shirt. I don't have children but the ones on this compound all seem to get along and play well together. As for price it really vary's on location. Expect to pay anywhere between 15,000 - 18,000 QAR per month

Apollo real estate did a good job of finding properties for me to look at.

Hope this helps good luck.

Compound life is not as bad as it sounds. If you have children, it is definitely the way to go. Most compounds have play grounds for kids. It is also a very safe place for kids to play.

The costs for living accommodations largely depends on the location.

Good Luck!
