Cheap hotels in Doha : utopia ?

Tristan
By Tristan

Hi to everyone !

I am planning to stay two weeks in Doha for research purpose (about Nepalese migrants). I'd like to stay in a cheap hotel (whithout any stars), where migrant workers also stay.

Could someone tell me the cost of such hotels, and where they are located.
I am also looking for a Doha map on the internet but it seems impossible to find.

Well, if you have any ideas about that, please tell me.

Thanks, Tristan

You will find that nepalese migrant workers couldnt afford even the cheapest hotels. Plus, most of them live in camps in the industrial area.

If you are doing research, it would be advisable to try and get the assistance of someone here in doha if you have any plans to interview people. You will not be given a warm welcome by employers if you plan to do a documentary piece on their workers.

Best place to interview workers is on their day off (friday) when they congregate in the souk area in their hundreds.

good luck

Try the link to the map site below.

Search for the term hotel and a number of them will pop up. Maybe you'll find something useful.
