CHANGE OF NAME from SINGLE to MARRIED in PATAKA or residence work visa

Any one here in Qatarliving members knows the process of changing name from single to married. I renewed my passport in the philippine embassy and this time using the surname of my husband. In this case my name in the passport has change differ from my name in my PATAKA (res. visa)which is my name when i was single.

Our PR dept ask me a certification from our embassy (phil embassy)and our embassy provided it.

Our PR also ask me to go to Ministry of Foreign Affairs for stamp the to Sofitel for translation.

But when i was already at the ministry of foreign affairs, they did not stamp the certification and ask me to go to the Ministry of Interior to fill up a form for change of name.

Anyone who from you who could provide me a clear detailed of processing on this matter will be highly appreciated.

thanks & regards

Forget it! They would just frustrate you. Have been on it for over a year now and still cant get my maiden name changed to my hubby's.

I submitted my change of name to Al gharafa immigration over a year ago and when my RP expired and i gave them my new passport with my changed name, it still came back in my maiden name. Just forget it I would advise.

I believe the name appearing on your Pataka will no longer change, as there are many others I know of who have applied for a change in civil status and yet their patakas still retain their maiden names, no matter how many times they have renewed their RP. My Pataka is also showing my maiden name even though I had been married for almost 3 years.
