Dear Friends,
I just received the Birth Certificate for my new born baby. Now we want to Give a different name to our baby.So what is the procedure for the change of name of the new born? Where to contact? Please guide.Thank You.
I have repatriated to India and I need to change my family name in my daughter's Birth Certificate (born in Qatar). Can anyone assist me with this? How can I get an official authorisation letter accredited the Indian Embassy in Doha?
Go to the same office who issued the Certificate. You will not be able to do anything from the Embassy as you should first register the baby's birth with a copy of the Birth Certificate. Registration in Indian Embassy is to be done within one year from the date of birth and if not registered within one year they have to refer it to India for granting Indian Citizenship.
Which entity/ministry issued the Birth Certificate??
Better go back to the same authority and ask. Oh and by the way another option would be to go to your embassy and ask in consular services for guidance on this topic.
