Legally you are not allowed to carry more than Rs.5000 indian currency when u r leaving from India. So,whatever you are carrying, you have to get converted either in QAR or USD.Better,u come with QAR to avoid two times conversion charges and also in small shops here in Qatar,USD may not be accepted.

Hi if you are coming to Qatar and required for your personal expenses at initial period then go to AXIS bank or any other bank and ask them to Issue a Travelers UD$ Card where you can load Indian Rs.as much as u need in 1st time and then even when you are required any more money ask your family to load the money on your card from India and you can use that at any ATM's/Shopping like other ATM card.

Secondly regarding if you don't have any habit of smoking and so....you can save more except some time shopping and eating out side on week end or as and when you need a change of taste. Ok.

Good luck and welcome

Instead of carrying Indian Rupees, Buy USD in your home country, and carry it instead.

It will be much easier and acceptable here for exchanging USD to QAR in Qatar.

You can use USD to buy anything at the airport, remaining money will be returned to you in QAR.

Is your company providing you Airport Taxi Pickup? How will you be going to your accomodation from Airport?

Do you know the contact No of the company personell?

Once at doha airport buy a calling card or check if you can by local SIM card ( 25 to 50 QAR) with your passport.

Cost of living here depends on your lifestyle, varies from 800 QAR to 2000 QAR.
