car rental?
how much would it be to rent a car in Doha? what other expenses woud come with this? (I have a UK driving licence)
i am considering a job at Doha College, and the accommodation provided is 5 minutes away. How far away is the town centre or nearest shops/supermarket from Doha College?

First question.The answer is that you can only drive for a week or two on your UK driving licence. You can convert that to a temporary Qatari licence until you get your resident permit after whic you can change it to a full Qatari licence for five years.
There is a big mall called Villagio about 5 minutes drive away.
Good luck with Doha college.. I hope that people like you can convince the mamangement to give priority to British students ahead of other nationalities..

the nearest supermarket / shopping centre from doha college would be Hyatt Plaza and Villagio. Short drive from the school but too far too walk especially in the summer.
