Depends upon how long do you plan to stay here?

Own vehicle:

Honda Civic is around QR 1,500(installment for 5yrs) + 300 Insurance + QR200 Petrol& Servicing charge = QR 2,000 per month.

For a 4 wheel drive vehicle the installment would be around QR 2,000 and petrol cost would be approx 3 times 600 = 2,600.

Downside: you will be with out a car in case of any accident & its repair.

Rent a car:

All is above QR 2,000. Tida is QR 2,100pm. 4Wheel drive would be over QR 3,000.In case of Accident you get a different vehicle.Add only petrol cost.

Downside:In case of Accident you have to pay around QR 1,000 to 1,500.

Company Vehicle:

Add only Petrol Cost. Most probable they are renting it from some Rent-A-Car (check if they are?)so no problem in case of Accident you get a different vehicle.

Downside:In case of Accident you have to pay around QR 1,000 to 1,500.

So if you plan to stay here less than 5yrs dont buy a car use company car.

If you take the "car provided" option you won't have to worry about insurance, registration, inspection, etc. Might be worth the peace of mind.
