If you're interested in Arab (Saudi) culture, "Girls of Riyadh" by Rajaa Alsanea is a really interesting fiction book to read. A very quick read however. Check out the reviews.

I bought one recently at Virgin that I like very much called "I Married a Bedouin." "The Time Traveler's Wife" and "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" were also good.
