Are there any indie music fans in Doha?
just wondered if anyone is into uk/na/european indie music...doesnt seem to be many bands playing here, but i have only just arrived so maybe i am wrong? also if anyone is interested in starting a band, get in touch...i'm talking about bands like phoenix, belle & sebastian, the cure, the smiths, yo la tengo, mbv etc...
whoa never thought i'd here those bands being suggested in qatar ever. and i lived here my whole life haha. but no, yes i cant imagine animal collective being played out in an even house party here lol.. we should totally form a club and play fugazi and stone roses!!
There don't seem to be too many...my iPod regularly gets vetoed at parties since it contains the likes of Animal Collective, The Kills, Dirty Projectors, The Knife, Ting Tings, Passion Pit, The xx, Postal Service, etc...
Not many people have the patience to be educated on good music at parties. Happy to hear that there's others out there who appreciate the creative and artistic process of independent music that isn't crafted and created for mass consumption in a marketing board room....keep listening!
