Is $4,000 USD a month a livable salary in Qatar?
How much will a one bedroom apartment cost?
What's the best place for me to find a female roommate to share housing with?

-- I will be working for a non-profit but I am worried that it will not be possible with this salary.. any thoughts? thank you.

No matter how much will be your salary,if you just know how to spend & used your money, then its worth living anywhere in the world. For security reason, having the mentioned amount as your salary then you can cope to live here in qatar.

1br apt is around $1200 to $1500,vry few offer 1 br unit;not unless you'll rent a room only, or sharing an apt which is around $800 to $1000 only.utilities will not cost you more than $300.a good meal at chilis, fridays or similar restos will cost you $20,of cors cheaper by more than 50% with fastfood restos, and much cheaper if you'll cook by yourself.monthly amortization of a $16000 car is around $350 for 5yrs,zero dp.on everthing else it will depend on your lifestyle.some expats here got only $1k monthly salary yet still earn and have something to remit back home.there's not much to spend a lot here.

If ur employer gives u housing u will lucky person in Qatar,it is easier to get female room sharing partner to stay in ur flat, but it will take u awhilr to find a 2 bedroom flat at a reasonable rate in Doha, present 2 B/R flat is ranging from US$2000 to 3000/pm,so just think what u will eat and save in Doha.U could charge ur female partner US$1000.pm or give her a free stay in ur flat.

IF THE SALARY IS INCLUDING HOUSING, YOU MIGHT NOT SAVE ANY MONEY.

I STAY IN A SINGLE BED ROOM APARTMENT (NEW BLDG), SEMI FURNISHED (WITH A/Cs AND FURNITURE AND WITHOUT HOME APPLIANCES)WHICH IS $1500 A MONTH.

YOU NEED TO CLARIFY WITH YOUR EMPLOYER IF THEY PROVIDE HOUSING.

My Dear,

i suggest to find a female 1st cause it's alot easier than to find 1 bedroom, b4 start searshing for a bedroom and once you could found 1 ask your hiring agency if it would be possible to make the offer about $8000 other wise am sure that u need to find a male to help you and remmember !!!

dont be a fool and believe that females here will help you in saving but they might help u in serving.

If they are not providing you with housing or a good stipend, then no. If they do provide housing, it is plenty. 4000 dollars is about 15000 riyals.

One bedroom apts start maybe at 8000 Riyals and can cost much more. You could probably share a two bedroon for 5000 each (or more), or find a room in a house with a bunch of other girls.

Best bet for finding roomate-- on the classifieds here or maybe in the Gulf Times.

For a one bedroom you'll pay anything between 5.5k (hard to find) to 7.5 k. But these prices are not for fancy buildings.
