Hi guys and kabayans. Weeks ago,I've applied to a massage center, salon and day spa as a massage therapist. The employer offered me 35% commission base salary. With free accommodation, bonus and tips. I am a first timer OFW. Is the 35% commission be enough for my day to day expenses and savings... ? Thank you mga kabayan...

I don't want to meddle but by the way you write, it seems that you can get a more professional job than this or in a Government Hospital perhaps as a Physical Therapist.

Thanks for the info.. The saloon that i'll be working to is isn't a 5* hotel. I think its not that popular. The name is AL ATLAS BODY CARE CENTER in Doha. heard of it??? Someone told me that the shop was good even though its not that popular compared to other bigger spa's..

actually one of my friends in qatar was also recieving 25% commission only.. and the total amount he received last month was about 6,000QR including tips. He told me that commission base salary as a Massage therapist is better compared to a fixed salary.

no need to be based on a 5* hotel...

that was only an example, IF the salon is well known even if it's not in a 5* hotel, then the commission is better ;)

ahh...ok kookai!

my computation was based on a salon located in al khor and mesaieed. :D

so let's wish him that he will be based on any 5 star hotel here in doha. :D

knor~I disagree with you!!! :))

If that massage center/salon is quite known, the commission is better than a QR 3,500/- fixed salary. My cousin who worked with Millenium Hotel before (Spa Therapist) saved a lot because of her commission.

let's say the charge for a massage is QR150 x 35% =52.5

if she will have a max 3 costumers/day = QR157.5

x 26days = QR 4,000

good numbers indeed.

but if i were you..just ask QR 3,500 fixed salary + bonus and free accommodation and transport.

much better on juandelacruz offer of QR2,100 + 200 who is also a nurse.

no costumer = no commission

why not ask for a fixed salary?

massage salon is just like a dental clinic. not everyone will come when they are in pain.

Depends on 35% of What? what the saloon makes in a day or the number of clients you attend?
