A 16000 QR Job
By Info_Seeker •
Hi,
If someone is offered a 16000 QR monthly income, this will include everything.
How do you guys think a typical monthly expenses would look like?
I am married with no children (yet) and will be looking for a nice 2 bedrooms flat in a nice area, I will also be looking to rent a car.
My wife and myself usually enjoy going to the movies, so four to six times a month will do.
Apologies if this question has been asked so many times, I am sure you guys wouldn't mind helping me out as I am looking for the current rates for housing/car rentals and so on.
Whatever the amount, it doesn't really matter. What matters most is your family's lifestyle as Laksh65 has said. A laborer earning QR500 can still send QR200 to his his family. But check of his lifestyle... If I got an offer like that, with the lifestyle I have, maybe, I can save more than half of that salary.
General Opinion:
Qatar is a very nice place. Not as luxurious like Dubai but here you will have enough. Be careful on marketing strategy of the banks and other establishment influencing your buying power. Do not give your money to the bank but instead invest it (stretch out your money instead of compressing it) Buy what you need and get only what you want if you have surplus of your budget. Avoid negative in your budget. Try your best to have a surplus and that surplus is your "savings". Simple living is always the call for savings. Do not get what you cannot afford and even you afford it, always look on the simplicity of life. If you have large family, then think about of bringing them here. Bring only the small one who cannot support themselves and send the big ones to their own way with your guidance.
Every human being need to know how to budget. BUDGETING is the only solution in this massive economic growth... GO QATAR!!!
mks... not a very good offer...depends on what your job is...are they paying your children's school fees? For a family of Seven I dont think you can save much, because the cost of living is really high.
Hi everyone,
I just got an offer of QR 19K (basic salary), 14K ( housing allowance & 2K ( car). I have 5 children. What do you think about the offer? How much can I save monthly?

Dear Info seeker,
My sincere advice to you is dont take on opinions on these things from people because it is totally upto one individual, his life style from where he hails and how he has been living all along. Working in gulf or in your home country, all depends on how you are going to live. Of course there are changes that are mandatory to be adopted when you come to an alien country to work, but the bottom line is how you want to live with your salary, a sensible and simple life without any show or luxury life. Choose according to your attitude, analyse the basic prices that you have to shell out like food, housing, (depending on the locality you want to live), then calculate based on your unavoidable needs and leisure spendings. Strike a balance in that, I am sure, the salary figure will not be a problem, you will definitely end up saving.
Spending does not mean, buying expensive goods for luxury. It means using wisdom where to spend 5 Riyals and 5000. Both cannot be weighed as same.
You are the best judge, to save or not to save, is totally how you manage your finance. Here everybody has posted according to their lifestyle. Nobody can view your living style, your expenses, your needs, except yourself.
Judge that and start saving.
Good Luck
Not enough. Half will go to your flat rental. The other half..its up to you..car loan, mobile, groceries, fuel, overhead cost will leave you zero balance. Good luck
