Can a foreigner buy lands in Qatar?

Hi everybody!

I've a friend who is interested in Qatar real estate industry. Is there anybody who can tell me whether it is allowed to buy a piece of land for a foreigner or not? And if it is allowed, then can the foreigner join the Qatar nationality?

Thanks!

Sara trust me, don’t listen to ignorant people, you can buy land in Doha even if you are a foreigner. Just go to Doha municipality in Al Sadd and they will help you.

Oh please check your facts before answering questions. Of course you can buy property or land in Qatar if you are a foreigner, but it will only be on a 99 years lease.

There are 18 locations in Doha where you can buy property, see below:

Sr. Name of Location Zone No.

1 Mushreeb 13

2 Fareek Abdul Aziz 14

3 Doha Jadeed (New Doha) 15

4 Al Ghanim Al Ateeq 16

5 Al Raafa + Al Hatmy Al Ateeq 17

6 Al Saalta 18

7 Bin Mahmood 22

8 Bin Mahmood 23

9 Rowda Al Khail 24

10 Al Mansoura + Bin Dirham 25

11 Najma 26

12 Umm Ghawaylian 27

13 Al Khalifaat 28

14 Al Saad 38

15 Al Marqab Al Jadeed, and Al Nasr 39

16 Doha International Airport 47

17 Al Qasaar, Al Dafna and Aneeza 60, 61, 63

18 Lousail, Khara’eej, and Jabal Saleeb 69, 70

You will get a five-year renewable residence visa along with your dependents if you buy property in Qatar, provided you have good character and pass the health check-ups.

Furthermore, at Doha municipality (Al Sadd) they set up a dedicated office to help foreigners who are interested in buying property in Qatar.

Concerning Qatari nationality, they do hand out very few ones, but you must have been living in Qatar for a very long period, and have very good connections.

Let me clear this out that rule of not giving Qatari or arab nationality for foreigners is not because of money. Its because of Holy Prophets (PBUH) advise he gave that "arabs should not let Christians or Jews settle on this arab land"

Palestinians sold out their land so now they are suffering. and GCC in general is reaping the benefits of the advise.

wow pearl that is some defence... but the problem you have long term is to sustain development you will need to increase your population through citizenship and to be honest what is a Qatari anyway???? Someone of Arab descent, Iranain, African???? The only reason citizenship is hard to get these days is you want to keep all the money to yourself and I don't blame you for that. Its a natural human instinct.

As a foreigner, no way you can buy a land in Qatar. Also no way you can obtain a Qatar Nationality, even to the extreem case of marriage to a Qatari. Qatar Nationality is a proud of this country (which I 500% support). If Qatari women married to a foriegner, their children will not hold a Qatar Nationality.

The person cannot become a Qatar national, whether the person buys real estate or otherwise. That is certain.
