Yeah, it would just be me, and I was hoping to save some money. (Though being closer to places like India sure makes travel tempting.) Hopefully I'll talk with someone tomorrow and see what's up.
Sounds good! I've heard the housing is surprisingly nice. And if you are hired under an American contract you have a LOT of protection which Qatar labor law doesn't provide. As long as you are satisfied with the salary. Qatar IS expensive although, of course, less so for a single person.
I've read about the problems they've had in the past (and recent changes), so I'm trying to be careful. This would be through Houston though they have not been the best with details, which is a concern. I've seen a contract and am ok with that--the terms are good. And I do want a little adventure and a change from where I'm at now...
Well, it's had some bumps in the road. I think the consensus seems to be that it is getting better with a new Dean. Check with the Houston folks, see if they will show you a contract and read Dave's ESL Cafe. Don't give up a good job for this but if you wan to come and have fun for a year or two ...

As an instructor hired from overseas (Western nation).
As a ...? Tea boy? President? Local hire? Narrowing it down a bit might help.
