will i get my benefits? pls help
I filed a complaint on labour department in industrial area. I've been working in my company since sept 2008 but since last year I already informed and give my resignation to my boss of my intentions on leaving and not signing another contract. My iqama expired since Dec 1 2011. I wait till my replacement come last Feb and teach him all. We agreed before that he will allow me to go home on May 18 but the problem is they are still not giving me ticket with all the benefits going back home. I tried to talk to him but he still wants me to work but I refused due to several reasons. My family badly needs me now. He was harassing and threatening me that I need to pay the car engine cost ( QR12,000) for the service that I am using. It was not my fault for the engine breakdown and it happened last June 2011.
They don’t inform me about this that I will pay for it. I thought it was cleared already because I informed them of the reasons why it happened. If this is so, I will get nothing for my benefits because my salary is not enough to pay it .That’s why I seek help to labour last Thursday. They have my passport and I stop work now. Will I get my benefits and go home for how many days?
thank u guys for ur suggestions. We have a meeting with my boss a while ago and we agreed that I will continue my work until the end of month and my ticket and benefits will be ready.Maybe he realized how I serve well on his company. Thanks God he answered my prayers.
File a complaint at the court (opposite IBQ Bank in Al Saad) look for someone who can make an arabic letter of your complains and submit to the court, this is free of charge.. and the court would act immediately and will schedule your hearing within 1 month, u need to bring someone who can understand arabic and can translate to u what the judge is telling...most labor complains filed in this court always favors the worker so u have great chance to get your benefits...
I agree with Mandi. Don't stop working. I have a friend who filed his case last 2010 October in Labor. Almost the same case as you have. Until now, he is still waiting for the decision after almost 2 years. There is no fast service in here. You need to wait not just days but sometimes years. Follow up as much as possible. You might be lucky enough to get the decision early.
Good Luck...
Do not stop work. Continue your case while working.
