Who can help for my friend?
Hi, one of my friends, a nepali boy is working now in Qatar. He told me that he was going to housekeeping to Qatar to the Al Fardan company. But unfortunately he has to work now in the parking area, on a hot and unhealthy place. What can he do to change the job? What are the rights of the workers from abroad in Qatar? How can I help him? Is there a trade union or another organisation for workers there? I never was in Qatar, so plzz sorry if I asked something strange.

Many thanks for the informations. I will see his agreement to decide the next step.
It's kind of you to be concerned about your friend and to seek information on his behalf. Unfortunately now that he is here in Qatar his options are very limited. He cannot change jobs for at least a year and only then with the permission of his employer. He probably cannot even quit his employment without paying for his return airfare. There are no unions in the Gulf but there are labor laws. If you or he believe that his employer is in violation of these laws there are labor courts that may be appealed to. But working outdoors for 48 hours a week is not illegal unless the temperature is 50 C.
