When a Japanese architect comes to Qatar
Hello, do anyone know "Architect's Accreditation Registration Council of Qatar"?
I'm an Japanese architect, and need your advise about architecture practice in Qatar!
Our architecture studio have got a project offer from Qatar which is for building a 5 star hotel in Al-Wakrah.
For starting the project, they asked us to register to to become a registered architect in Qatar. Could it be possible and necessary for foreigners?
We are pretty interested in the project but not familiar at all this kind of system which is far from home.
I would like to ask you guys, if it looks trustful or not since the fee isn't very small.
we hope to bring a Japanese modern style to Al-Wakrah, Thank you so much for your help:)))

Try having your studio tie-up w/ a locally registered architectural/engineering firm in Qatar.
Your studio will act as the Conceptual & Design Consultant and the local firm will be the Architect of Record and who will facilitate and obtain the necessary permits for your project. But, of course in agreed fees. Definitely, that firm should have all the qualifications, registrations and accreditation in Qatar, that you are asking for.
Thanks a lot walkmun! I also have found this blog yesterday. It was too dreaming project though ;P
I am an architect from the UK and have been working in Qatar for past 4 years.
The "Architect's Accreditation Registration Council of Qatar" is a scam from Nigeria.
