waiting in vain

i was offered job last June, placed my licenses and all, but my employer has not said anything about giving me a visa. After 4 months of waiting, I became impatient, called my employer and asked. All they said was they will check about it then call me back. It has been 2 days and I have not heard a word from them. I'm thinking of applying to other companies that will give me a visa asap. Confused if I should wait or apply to others..
thanks for the replies. I"m not in qatar that's why personal discussions are not an option. the company paid for the application of my license worth 800QR but I paid for my exam USD 200, (which they promised they will refund). since they paid for my license application, I thought it was worth waiting.
Britexpat was right. You should not have wasted you time waiting.
Things move slowly here, but you should apply to as many places as you can until you get the actual visa in your hand.
LOL i read the title as " waiting in a Van"....:)
