Urgent help regarding termination
By Singh-pun123 •
Hello,,
I work with a company in oil field, last week around 20 people received termination letters,
In my case, I have been working with them for the last 4 years and 9 months.
My questions are :
- How long can I stay here in Qatar to find a new job after my company cancel my rp.
- Is NOC still required to change to a new job knowing that It wasn't 5 years (4y9m).
- Where is the ministry of labour office in case I want some more clarifications, and what are their working hours .
Thank you for your support.

Good News everyone
You can stay upto 3 Months after Qatar ID Cancellation.
Confirmed news from MOI.
I will post links shortly. So nobody tells anybody the 7 days or 1 Month story...it is a whole 90 days story now
Accha... if you ask company people they will always say 7 days..7 days... Its like asking a person selling tomatoes ...is the tomato good for health...He has only option to tell you..tomato is the best for health so that he can sell his tomatoes...
But as I said before...there was my friend who exited by 1 month without issues. So we can get confirmation only from a person who works at immigration and is ready to help.
My company people have confirmed that once the RP gets cancelled, one must leave within 7 days from the day of cancellation.
I don't know who is right but I would believe my company people first.
Leaving within 7 days is something company HR says. But in practice there is my friend who stayed for a month and exited without any issues. So I can confirm you can stay for 1 month without any fine
1month = 30 days
Singh-pun123: Once your RP is cancelled by your company, you must leave within 7 days from the date of cancellation. Otherwise, you will need to pay a penalty for each extra day after the expiry of 7 days.
As per the last information I have, you will be needing an NOC in your case as you have not completed 5 years. But please wait for comments from other QLers who may be knowing better.
As for getting clarifications on labour issues, I suggest you visit National Human Rights Committee office. They will guide you. They will also answer your query whether you need NOC from your employer in your case.
