Split Shift

I just want to know your opinion regarding split shifts which is so common in Doha. What's the reason behind this? do you like this kind of shift? I used to work in another GCC city where very very few are on split shift so Im not used to it.

For me, it seems just to extend your working hours. You cant even plan to do for the night. Just my opinion.

It used to be quite common 10-15 years back, but not very common nowadays. I work one straight shift :)

we should petition to change this old system. Its too difficult especially to those who dont have cars, in summer. But since this system is in place here in Doha, there must be a compelling reason to do it.

Yeah, it sucks big time except for the good thing that you can pick your kids from school or nursery.

I am a victim of the split shift. My hubby works from 8am to 8pm. He comes home in the afternoon to eat, rest and do errands. We have no family time whatsoever, during the whole week.

Split shift sucks.

because the people who decide to put the split shift in place lack common sense. Plus, many people don't work here so from 12-4 is their lunch/coffee time and the rest of the day they spend shopping/running errands.
