Resign...

Dear All,

I am working in a company here in Qatar for more than 1 yr now, I want to resign. What I did was I send a resignation letter last Sept 6 with a 30 days notice. I clearly specify also that my last day of work is Oct. 6. To mention, I already have my plane ticket with me.  My Boss did not accept my resignation. Now he talk to me that he will allow only me to go after Nov 30. (Last day of work) but again the prob is its only in verbal. I cannot ask him to put it in writing because I know he will be upset and maybe it will lead to not allowing me again to leave. My question is, what if he will not release me again after Nov 30? Can I ask help form Qatar Labor regarding this matter even if I dont have a letter from my boss that he allowed me? Is there any way the Employer can stop me if I resign?

Please someone kindly give me a piece of advice.
THank you very much...

yes.. if u go for legal remedy, it may take atleast 3-6 months, probably without salary, for you to settle the case thru labor court.

Well, if you feel that he will leave by November 30 and if that is ok for you (provided your company pays for the extended period), better stay and go on Nov 30.  If you make it legal, you may take another 3-6 months to clear and go..... Decision is for you to take..

You have to go to Labour court to lodge your complaint if you do not wish to stay more. At present as per law you lodged a 30days notice, and that is more than enough. I hope the notice you send is having a receipt as proof. All the best.
