Please advise-VISA and job.

Hi,

I am an Indian and looking out for an oppurtunity to work in Qatar. I have been trying through various job consultants in India, but havent got any positive response as yet.

Thus in this regard I have the below query

1. Can I come to Qatar on a visit Visa and look out for an oppurtunity

2. How can I apply for a Visit visa? Is there any agencies that cater to these? Or do I have to have some friends or relatives in Qatar?

3. I am currently working in India. So, will it be advisable to take the risk of coming to Qatar to look out for an oppurtunity by leaving my current Job in India?

4. How long does it take to get a decent profile job ( I know there is no set answer to this question, but any advise will be helpful- so that i can plan my trip like wise ).

5. I am currently working as a Senior Manager, Procurement in India. How good are my chances to get a profile of similar designation?

6. I am married and have a child. Will I be able to take my family along with me ones I get a job. In other words will i be able to sponsor my family (if I dont get a company sponsored visa when I am employeed).

I truely would appreciate some insight into my above queries as I am in a fix whether it will be a good idea to take the chance of going to Qatar on a Visit visa and looking out for an oppurtunity there.

If not, is there any other way to secure employment in Qatar. I have tried, job portals like Monster and bayt. They are not of much help so far.

Regards

the whole 'come on a visit and search' thing was half effective not long ago..but with less Indian visas being given out these days, it is too risky with a family. Unless you have considerable savings and can afford to blow a small load on a visit, I'd second the others and suggest coming only with a confirmed job offer. Which should be higher enough than your current pay to justify leaving home and dunking your young family into a new environment. Best of luck:-)

1. Many come on visit to drop their CVS but hardly succeed, because the vacancies are fewer and applicants are in hundreds. On top of it, employment visa is hard to get. 2. "Qatar Living" services section is where you can find visit visa consultants. 3. Anyone can sponsor his family if his salary is more than Qar. 10,000 and has a good job title, without job, none can live, work or sponsor the family. 4. Your job in the construction companies is possible but on two/three years contract basis.
