no NOC to transfer to husbands sponsorship

I am very frustrated and just want to share my frustrations! I have worked for a school in Qatar for the past 6 years. I am very fond of the place but whilst living in Qatar I met my husband got married and we have a 4 month old. I would like to leave next year so that I can be with my son and have handed in my resignation but they are currently refusing to release me onto my husbands sponsorship:-(. Just keep saying it's not company policy. I have been very dedicated to this school and have watched a huge staff turn over but stuck it out and this is the thanks that I get.

Our buisness manager was not even understanding and willing to try and help me. Why have I bothered to work hard if this is the thanks they give me. Now I am uncertain what is going to happen next year I will keep asking for a release but it looks like it may be visa runs for me.

It's so unfair there is nothing I can do...

Under law the husband has priority to sponser his spouse, end of story. Ask him if he really wants it to be dealt with through attorneys at the companies cost.

catweasel, i will check this matter.. but as i am aware, you do not need a NOC letter in order to be transfered under your hubby's sponsorship. Let's say one left her job with no NOC. She CAN enter Qatar on Family visa first, and then your hubby apply for your RP as your sponsor. But let me make sure, and I'll get back to you with the confirmation.

Have your husband get involved. He should contact the upper management and insist to have them release you. Find out who is making this policy. You may finally have to go straight up the totem pole to the top. I had that happen to my wife and they finally gave in. He should be firm and insist. They usually will bow to the husband’s demand of taking responsibility of his spouse.

catweasel, I know four women who have managed to get away from such employers. Leave and have your husband issue you a family visa and come back. It isn't as difficult as they say it is.

good luck!
