Info for Americans on setting up contract work

Hi everyone,

I am going to be working on as a Locum contractor for a bit, and I need some advice. Do you have to set it up like a small business? In the cases of taxes what do I have to do? Pay is below the taxable amount for the US. Has anybody run into this before?

Are you working for an organization as an independent contractor? What kind of visa are they providing you with? In order to work legally you need to be sponsored by someone who will get you the right visa for what you are doing.
