How to pass resignation letter

Ive been here in doha for only 2 months.I Used to work in the UAE. I dont want the place nor the job and my co-employees who think they are the best people in the world as they have been here in Doha for more than a decade. Add to that, I miss my girlfriend. My question, do i need to submit a resignation letter and which is the best way and what is the best time to do it. I dont have pataqa or residence visa yet so I want to exit before those are processed. I know im gonna pay a lot but what to do..thanks
