Driving in Qatar with International Driving Permit/ Licence

Hi Everybody,

I heard that there was a recent change in Law; International Driving License are only valid for 14 days on arrival to Qatar. After that we are required to get a Temporary License. Is this true?

I'm on Business Visa in Qatar for 3 months. At present i have both a valid Driving License and a International Driving Permit issued from Malaysia.

Being concern, I when to Madina Khaliffa Office to clarify. But unfortunately there was so many people. I queued for 3 hours just find out that no one was able to communicate in English at the counter. :(

While there, i asked many people. But nobody seems to be able to advice as i only have a Business Visa.

Appreciate some advice or guidance on the matter.

everything have changed. you need to go to driving lessons and sit for a test to get driving licence. Its a long drawn process with many heartaches and money.
