My husbands phone and mine (both QTel one contract one top up) have suddenly stopped receiving texts from our family and friends - they get ours but nothing comes back this end.
Just remembered, they did tell me to try one thing- Take your sim out and try in another phone and check your phone has not lost the message settings number.
You can do this by going to messages, then message settings, then text message, then message centre, then SMS-C. The number that should be there is - +9745589955. Hope this helps as I know how frustrating it can be not being able to get in touch with family :-)
I had the very same problem about 3 weeks ago texting my mum in the UK. She has a sim card from Tesco but I am unsure what network it is with.
I called Qtel and they gave me a complaint number and said wait 24/36 hrs and someone will call back. In the mean time my mum contacted her service provider and no fault was found that end so it had to be with my service provider.
I ended up waiting about 7 days and had to call them back to find out what was wrong. I was eventually told that Qtel does not have an aggreement with EVERY service provider in the UK and thats why messages may or may not get through.
It will be worth finding out what provider they are with and see if there is an agreement with Qtel otherwise you may as well save your money and not text.
I am having the same problem. Called QTel and they said definitely not a fault this end. My mum in UK went to O2 and they said def not a problem that end. Well there's a problem somewhere obviously but i haven't received texts from O2 for about 2 weeks now. Happy days. No idea what's going on as I'm successfully sending to O2 and receiving from OTHER international networks. Hmmm.
