WATCH: Prominent People in Qatar - Nasser Al-Khelaifi
The star of our latest edition of the Prominent People in Qatar series is Nasser Al-Khelaifi, dubbed the most powerful man in French football by a notable French newspaper L'Équipe.
Al-Khelaifi is the Chairman of the beIN Media Group as well as the President and CEO of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Football Club.
The 45-year-old Qatari began his sporting career as a professional tennis player. Between the years 1992 and 2002, he played in 43 single matches and was able to break into the World's Top 1000 players.
Later in 2008, Al-Khelaifi took charge as the president of the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF). Three years later, he became the Chairman of the Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) adding to the many hats he wears at present.
In addition to assuming top management roles, Al-Khelaifi also sits on the organizing committee of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar.
His focused personality and impeccable leadership skills have propelled beIN Media Group to become a renowned media conglomerate.
Additionally, under his guidance, PSG was able to establish dominance in French football.
Al-Khelaifi was born in Doha on November 12, 1973, and is a graduate of Qatar University. He started off his journey in media at Al Jazeera Media Network.
