Things to know about work visas if you have an employment offer
Obtaining a visa to work in another country can be quite tedious and will require patience. There are many steps in the process and key documents will need to be made available to prevent delay.
We've compiled this list of useful information to help you prepare for the application process:
Step 1: All non-nationals entering Qatar for work purposes must be sponsored before being allowed in the country.
Step 2: Your employer will act as your sponsor and is responsible for filing all paperwork with the Ministry of Interior for your visa and residency permit.
Step 3: Prior to coming to Qatar, your educational documents (degrees, diplomas and certificates), marriage certificates and official police clearance will need to be attested by your domestic Foreign Affairs office and the Qatar embassy in your home country.
Step 4: You will be issued a temporary Entry Visa (to be provided by your employer) that will allow you initial entry into Qatar.
Step 5: Workers entering Qatar on an Entry Visa will be required to remain in Qatar until the Residency Permit (RP) is issued. RPs can take up to six weeks for issuance.
Step 6: At the end of the process, you will be required to submit your passport for the visa to be stamped/placed in it.
Here's a list of documents that you should have prepared prior to travelling:
• Offer letter from employer signed and dated.
• Valid Passport with pages to accommodate your visa.
• All educational documents (degrees, diplomas and/or certificates)
• Official police clearance
• Marriage certificates
• Medical records if you have any medical conditions

Hi Commercial Bank, I 've been here in Qatar for almost 5 months, our salary/payroll account is under another bank, can I still open an expat account with you, or this is only for those who just arrived here.

Hello, this is Commercial Bank :) - Thank you all for your comments.
A required police clearance is not inaccurate. Depending on the country you’re coming from, certain companies here in Qatar require you to provide a police clearance before they can process your visa to travel.
Please feel free to contact us for any further queries and questions on our social media channels, and we will gladly assist you. Thank you
The Police Certificate goes under various names depending on the country you originate from. Examples might be: NBI Clearance (Philippines), FBI Background Check (Amerika), Police Clearance Certificate (India), Police Certificate (UK and other European countries), Führungszeugnis/Police Certificate (Germany), Criminal Record Certificate (Spain), etc etc. Qatar requires one be submitted and either collected by the prospective employee, or by the employer via their government channels in the home country / embassy. Too bad CBQ doesn't reply to their own ads...
