I have come to Qatar after a gap of 07 years. I have a Qatar driving license expired on Jan 2013.
Should I undergo the driving test again or can i renew the license directly with my QID?

My expired Qatar is renews without any eye test and letter from company
No need Retest for driving if you have expired Qatar driving license
Important thing is don't forget to bring your expired Qatar Driving license
1) Once your Qatar Id is ready you go to the nearest Traffic Deportment in Qatar
2) Take a token for renew license
3) show your expired Qatar Driving license
4)show your Qatar new Id
5) give ATM card of Qatar based Bank
6) 250 QR for renewal
7) be Happy

My brother came qatar after 3 years.He have QID. But driving licence already expired on 2017.Please tell me some one What is the procedure on driving licence renewal?

I got my expired qatari drving license renewed by just paying QR 250 showing my QID. Its just 05 min procedure. We do not require any eye test, NOC from present employer or any driving test.
Hats off to qatari govt. for preserving the records.
I've just joined my company and I'm still on a 3 month business visa. Went yesterday to get a temporary driver's license and was told I had to do a driving test...! I'm 52 years old and have driven for longer that most of these people have lived! Can anyone confirm this rule change? Went with an Arabic speaking PRO from our company.

You can directly renew it once you get your QID. Visit any nearest traffic department along with your QID and a photograph. Please note cash is not accepted there and you will have to use either a credit or debit card. Trust this information helps.
