MOI underlines conditions to acquire permanent residency in Qatar

Earlier last year, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani officially issued Law No. 10 of the year 2018 in connection with the issuance of permanent residency to non-Qataris.

A first for the region, the plan is based on a number of conditions, which the Ministry of Interior reiterated in a video shared across its social media channels yesterday.

As reported by Gulf Times, non-Qataris are eligible to apply for permanent residence under a number of requirements including:

- The applicants must have completed 20 years of residency in Qatar if they were born in a country other than Qatar and 10 years if they were born in the State of Qatar;

-The applicants must have adequate income to cover expenditures of their family and themselves;

- The applicants must prove good behavior and reputation and should not have been previously convicted of dishonorable offence;

- The applicants should have sufficient knowledge of the Arabic language.

The following individuals are exempt from the above mentioned conditions:

-Children of a Qatari woman married to a non-Qatari man;

-Non-Qatari husband of a Qatari woman;

-Non-Qatari wife of a Qatari man;

-Children of a Qatari by naturalization;

-Those who have provided great services to the state;

-Persons with special capabilities needed by the state.

The Ministry pointed out that applications can be submitted through the electronic services portal of MOI’s website.

Once the MOI has assessed whether the applicant meets the specified criteria, the individual will be contacted by SMS to submit further documents necessary for processing.

A fee of QAR 3000 is required to be paid by the applicant for application processing.

If eligible for permanent residency, the applicant will be contacted to complete the procedures and obtain the card at the nearest services center. The applicant will have to pay a final fee of QAR 3000 upon collection.

The initiative to grant permanent residency to non-Qatari individuals is expected to help increase investments and attract more capital, contributing to further economic growth in the country, while the State can also benefit from people with special competencies.

A PR cardholder will be able to enjoy a number of rights and privileges in accordance with the law covering domains of health, education, investments among others.

Your statement is wrong >>> "In Qatar, you need to apply first and only if your application is approved, you need to make a payment"

You need to pay QAR 3000 upon submitting application itself not later. Please check below review from a person who already submitted the application:

@by pioneerpec#be positive brother! Allow me to correct you! Qatar is one of the JUST COUNTRY in the world where CORRUPT PRACTICES are not entertained. In Qatar, you need to apply first and only if your application is approved, you need to make a payment. Yes, there is a capping of 100 Individual per year being given PR provided they meet the set criteria. That does not mean that you should not try. In life there are so many things that we try without knowing whether it will work positive or negative for us, so no harm in trying to get a PR of one of the peaceful countries in the world if you are eligible.

Article 4 officially issued Law No. 10 of the year 2018 in connection with the issuance of permanent residency to non-Qataris stipulates that not more than 100 individuals shall be approved per year to have permanent residency.

Please dont waste time and money as only 100 people will be granted Permanent Residency each year.
