How to Get a Police Clearance Certificate in Qatar

A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) or a Good Conduct Certificate is an official document that states the criminal record of an individual and is one of the most important documents needed for different purposes such as migration, employment, marriage or even to start a business. The certificate is issued by the Criminal Evidence and Information Department (CEID) which then attests to whether the applicant has any criminal record or not. 

The prerequisite of applying for a PCC in Qatar is to have your fingerprints recorded in the MOI system and a 6-month stay in the country. Instances like jobs, education, visa application, and immigration all require having a PCC so it is essential to be in the know-how of the process. 

Documents Required for obtaining a PCC in Qatar

• Fully filled Application Form
• A formal letter addressed to The Director-General of evidence and criminal information showing the certificate request and purpose.
• Copy of the Passport (current passport and old passport that was used while in Qatar with personal particulars, residence permit, dates of first entry to the country, and last exit from the country)
• Copy of the Qatar ID
• Copy of the fingerprinted document (Attested by the Qatar Embassy in home country)
• 2 photographs (4 x 6 cm)
• Home Country PCC attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar (MOFA)
• Letter from Company (if applicable)
• Date of First Entry and Last Exit (if applicable)

What is the purpose of a PCC?

A Police Clearance Certificate is a declaration of the absence of any criminal record or copy of your criminal record. When hiring, most employers require to see your background for which, your PCC should be readily available. If you’re planning on immigrating to Qatar, this is one of the most crucial documents to have in hand. When speaking of criminal records, these include conviction, arrest, criminal proceedings.

The officials have made it easier for you to apply for your Police Clearance Certificate via the Metrash2 App. Here are the following steps: 

1. Login to Metrash2.
2. On the home page, click on 'General Services', and then on 'Police Clearance Certificate'.
3. Click on 'Request Certificate'. and fill in the data.
4. Click on 'Next, and upload the required documents.
5. Tick the 'I agree on validity of data' and click Next.
6. Make the payment.
7. Your application is submitted.

How to Apply for a PCC if outside Qatar

 If you’re not in the country and need the certificate, you can adhere to either one of these ways to get your PPC:

 1- Through the Qatar embassy

 2- Through Metrash2 application or the website( valid residence permit is required)

 3- Applying via express mail by sending all the required documents and the fees to the following address:

 4- Through a relative or a friend in Doha to apply and receive the PCC by sending them the required documents with the power of attorney certified by the court and the competent authorities in the applicant country and the Embassy of the State of Qatar & the Ministry of foreign affairs. The processing fee should be paid on behalf of the applicant for the certificate (QR 10)
