Hello,

I am an Indian holding a family residence permit. We are applying for UK visa for our son, so there is a section what permission do you have to live in Qatar?  Options are I have a temporary visa  or I am a permanent resident .

I wanted to know what category will we come in temporary visa or permanent resident ?

Please help!!

Hello there...

As you have QID it will come under the section ''permanent visa''.

And if you want to 'stretch it a little more' then I would say that nobody can own land legally, because it all has been taken by force some times ago. It's like buying a stolen car. When the police finds out you'll loose it. Who owns the world? Those who have taken it by force!

You see, goodlittleboy, even the Emir of Qatar has got the country from his father who has gotten it from his father. The Al Thanis definitely have a permanent residence unless another tribe takes over by force.

Well, in my country you own the property as long as you live and then your children inherit it, and so on and so on.

Daniel: Even if I buy a property in my own country, it is on a 99- year lease. Does it mean I am a temporary resident of my own country? If you stretch the thought a bit more, are we not "temporary residents" of this world?

Actually, no visa in Qatar is 'permanently'. Even if you buy a property in the Pearl you will get only a 99-year residency! That means that ALL visa in Qatar are 'temporary'!

You will come in "permanent visa" section as you have a residence visa and also a QID.
