OPTION1:

If you have RP, then even if your passport has validity of just 1 day, you can come back to Qatar and you will not any problem with Indian Immigration because I have done this. Minimum Six month validity requirement is for those coming in Visit visa or on arrival visa etc. So best thing is u come back here with the same passport here and renew the passport here itself.

OPTION 2:

If you renew your Passport , then in your Qatar ID it is still mentioned the old passport number. Also in india renewal of the passport there is so much delay around 60 days minimum and even if you take urgent (tatkal) passport within 10 days, it is more than three times the price and you need to pay bribe to the verification officers, policeman etc.. and in the end you will end up with a Qatar ID with a wrong passport number. I have not done this nor will do this. So i cant share experience at any time. If you do this dont forget to share the experience.

Achhabaccha...

Please note that Old Passport is cancelled (Marked it with RED stamp that it is cancelled after which you cannot use it for Travel) and then only the New Indian Passport is issued.

Yes, you can. Since your old passport is still valid for another 3 months, it is good enough. Carry both passports with you but I guess the new passport will not be required as of the moment.
