NOC and Sponsorship Transfer
By Abdul.hussain •
Hello All,
I had joined Qatar Airways almost 2 months ago. Unfortunately due to the ongoing situation, I was made redundant yesterday along with many others.
My question is, I was still under probation period and i have not been given any notice period but i will be getting 7 days salary in lieu of notice period as per the contract. How long can i stay here to look for another job? Can i transfer my sponsorship in this situation? What will be the process? I am new to all of this so i don't really have a clue.
P. S. The flights are also not operating back to my home country so they cannot send me back right now.
Thanks
@Molten Metal. I am loyal since day 1. It's the company that is not showing loyalty towards it's employees. It was an honor for me to work with this great company and i was so excited but i never ever thought even in my wildest of dreams that they would do something like this to me that too only after 2 months of joining them.
Abdul, One more point , be safe from the misleading guys , they always target people like you ..... Caution ...... !!!
Already targeted .... Wed 01.04.2020 06.31 hrs
Abdul, You stay loyal to the first one .... they spend a lot of money on us to bring us here and support our one dozen dependents back home , we should remember that .......

As I stated earlier, I am not sure. The one year under the same sponsor is a requirement of the authorities. Suggest you check on this with other people such those typing shops who do "Hukoomi" service. A NOC will be of no use if such transfers are not permitted.
So i can't transfer sponsorship if i haven't completed 1 year with my current employer? What if i get the NOC from them?
Qatar Airways is fairly good, as goodlittleboy says check with them. You should be able to stay here till your RP runs out, however, funds are from your pocket.
Market is also extremely bad, office are working at reduced strength.
It all depends on your current employers. Talk to them and get their views. You may be able to use the ground of flight unavailability to get back home. Also, to my knowledge, for a transfer to take place, you must have served at least a year in that company. You can check on this through other sources.
Is there any possibility that i can stay here for a couple of weeks or so and try to get another job to transfer my sponsorship so i don't have to go back. Any chance?
I don't think you will be able to stay longer than your last day of work. Qatar Airways is still being good to you by paying you 7 days of salary. Most companies don't even do that. Also, in the current situation you may find it hard to find another job. That will lead to you suffering mental tension and expenses with no results.
Suggest you now focus on returning home.
