Hi all,

Recently applied  (May - 2019) for family resident permit and got approved, during my prepration had gone throw lot of forums, Articles so i thought it s worth to write my experience.

Documents Submitted,

  1. Application form ( must filled in Arabic) - Filled up mine  near immigration round about. (5 QR)

  1. NOC from company - some articles highlighted that we need two documents, one is salary letter another one is No obection certificate. but i kept only one document mentioning both contents. this document must highlight your Qatar ID Number & Profession.

  1. Bank Statement - I got mine from doha bank. process consumed 2 working days. u must mention to bank that u are applying this salary credit statement for IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT. so they will provide the document in right format. (25 QR).

  1. Degree Certificate - Lot of articles saying that your profession in degree certificate should match with your visa designation. In my case visa designation is General supervisor but i have degree in Civil Engineering and working as a planning engineer. Planning engineer does'nt matter here what matters lot is Degree & Visa category. submitted with out changing the visa profession. Degree certificate must be attested by MOFA. if u want to attestate your degree in MOFA u need 2 more documents 1) Consolidated Mark Sheet. 2) Bonafide certificate from university. For indian Nationality it costs total 15000 INR. In MOFA its 100 QR/ document.

  1. Marriage certificate - It needs to be attested so it costs 400QR (Indian Nationality) completed through agency.

  1. Job contract - Provide by company

  1. Copy of Qatar ID

  1. Copy of Wife passport (front & back )

  1. Tenancy Contract - it is your housing contract. Most of the forums saying this shall be attested by Baladiya (municipality). In my case i just submitted it with out getting Baladya stamp.

With all this Document went to Immigration Dept Garaffa, Gate No- 3. Requested for the Token, because of Ramadan time there was no rush so directly walked to the officer. she collected all my documents , During her checking i thought it will be rejected bcoz 1) submitted without baladya stamp in Tenancy contact. 2) mismatch in Visa profession & Degree 3) and the bank statement - my company provides salary with one month delay and that also not in constant date. )). she discussed with her collegue (flippino male). i felt like this is it, i am done here but that guy printed a receipt & passed to her then she gave it to me and said check website after 3 days. A bit relaxed now atleast they collected the document bcoz some of my collegues hadn't passed this stage for Salary statement & mismatch of visa profession.

For one week it was showing under review then the status changed to Application under process. i was not sure its approved or not so gone through some of forums and articles then realized that, these are the possible  meaning of Application under process

  1. Application reviewed and they are satisfied then passed to the officers to make the visa or,

  1. Kind of preliminary approval but still Case under study to buy some time,

  1. Some forums said if it is showing under process for one week we need to visit the Immigration office (Possibily of rejection if they cant proceed visa making becoz of submitted documnets)

so Forums are saying that u can consider 50% approved. For me it changed under process with Expiry Date in 4 days it means its 100% approved. ( status was showing under review for 4 working days, under process for 3 days)

With in 1 Hour it showed ready to print the visa so i just visited immigration office Gate 1 and paid 200 QR visa fees & 500 QR for conversion of Visit visa to RP.

Visited medical commission & paid 100 QR (no medical checkup reqired 2 time) within 10 Minutes recived messege from metrash that Medical is OK, then visited directly to Finger print registration in Mesaimeer CID office. ( Total 3 Hrs spent for medical + Finger print registration)

After Ramadan holidays  visited to Gate - 02, Gharaffa Immigration office. Provided Visa copy, Passport copy ( for both), My ID copy, Blood group report, Receipt from medical commission. Some articles claiming that u need to fill an application form if u dont have Finger print registration receipt but in my case it wasn't requested, The Lady officer in counter just asked signature from my wife in a A5 form, then she printed ID. ( Spent only 15 minutes , Morning 6.30 AM). and yes paid 500 QR for 1 year validity of ID card. (Eye scan not taken)

At first i dont have confidence to make application, but my landlord instructed to apply RP bcoz now they facile the procedure for Famil RP.

@Kalidurai. Yes I agree. This is really helpful information shared by you.thanks a lot.

I am also Recently applied (February 2020) for my wife resident permit (QID) and got QID within 15 days, during my application, had gone through lot of forums, Articles also, now I thought I should write my experience too as now application system is changed because now you can apply in Metrash for family residence permit, which more easier and obviously hassle free.

First,

login in metrash and go family visa option and then click family residence application, fill up the form which is very easy (name,DOB,nationality etc) then next page you have to attach all documents i.e attested marriage certificate, attested education certificate, wife passport copy, and in "other" just upload last month bank statement showing salary. thats it and submit.after submission you have to check in metrash again by click in family resident application to check for status.I got approval status next day of my application, please do not expect like this every time, if do not receive next day, wait for atleast upto 7 days, then you can go MOI,Al garaffa for inquiry if not receive.

Here I would like to inform you that I am Civil Diploma engineer and not degree but still I got family resident permit. before no where its mentioned about that, every time I was looking for this information whether i can get family residence permit or not because i do not have degree certificate, all people informed me that I should have degree to get family RP,It was not cleared to me even the time I was applying. Now I confirm that diploma engineer can get family resident permit also as long as his salary is more than 10,000 QAR.

Second, When you get status "appoved", just go to any immigration office to pay 200 QAR for visa and 500 QAR for transfering visa from visit to Permanent, take the print out.

Third, Go to medical commision with wife and show the print out to security and he will guide where to go next, for information, they will not do any medical test again if your wife has not leave Qatar after last medical test.Only to paid 100 QAR and you will get "OK" certificate.

After I just follow your steps for finger print and got my wife QID within 15days.
