Last I heard, he or she will be informed by CID of when they are supposed to leave (i.e within 72 hours). If their papers are already with CID, then they would have to wait. Otherwise, maybe company might be able to submit exemption supported by education documents etc.

Some companies do that.
If company wants they can also ask for waiver if his visa is professional and the ailment non serious and curable.
