Ooredoo to enable Karwa smartcard recharge
Users of public buses in Qatar can now top up their Karwa smartcards at Ooredoo’s self-service machines (pictured above). Ooredoo and Mowasalat yesterday announced a partnership agreement enabling the service.
The agreement, which gives Karwa users a more effective and accessible way to pay for their travel costs, is the latest in SSM improvements, Ooredoo said yesterday.
Karwa Smartcard customers can top up their cards in denominations from QR10 up to QR500 through over 200 SSMs in shopping malls and other popular locations.
“SSMs were launched to give our customers an easy and effective way to top up, but as we’ve grown, we’ve focused on introducing innovative and helpful services such as this for our customers’ convenience,” said Brian Speldewinde, Assistant Director Indirect Channels, Ooredoo.
“Being able to top up conveniently at Ooredoo SSMs across Qatar will enable people to travel more conveniently and encourage new users to try our safe, secure, effective and economic transportation services,” said Jassim Al Khayat, Director, Information Technology and Communications, Mowasalat.
Customers are required to enter their smartcard number and the desired amount at any of SSMs to recharge their cards.
My friend When you recharge don't put last one digit number of smart card and that working you can 1 Riyal to 500 Riyals. Cool !
I tried many times to top-up, but getting error message from the machine at QTel customer care at salwa road (azizia)
Good job.
as a regular karwa bus customer, this is great. there are not too many shops where we can topup our karwa cards. i hope we can use the karwa smartcards someday for taxis too.
