A first-of-its-kind in Qatar, the mobile app is designed to broaden the reach of counseling services provided by Aman, to help more women benefit from the professional counseling services.
With the introduction of the app, any girl or woman can request for advice in a manner that ensures confidentiality and total privacy. The reply from the centre will be received within five working days through the individual’s mobile or email, reported Gulf Times.
This is a significant mechanism for civil society organizations in the framework of meeting international obligations of Qatar, said CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai. The initiative activates the provisions of international conventions and charters that Qatar supports through applied practices to uphold its women empowerment agenda.
The application offers easy, safe and secure service, enhancing women’s awareness of their issues and increasing their understanding on how to overcome challenges they might be facing.
Additionally, it supports women’s rights through the pursuit of access and the way in which it builds awareness and disseminates knowledge.
Aman Executive Director Mansour al-Saadi noted that the centre is keen to follow a scientific methodology in all its activities and applications where the needs of women in Qatar have been studied, and these studies have proven the need for a safe application that achieves the right knowledge and enjoys independence and privacy, hence the idea of developing the application that took the work was almost six months, reported The Peninsula.
Through this service, women will be able to send any number of consultations in several different areas, and obtain a full reference to all consultations incase they need to go back to their previous records the account will provide that information.
CEO of Mada, Maha Al Mansouri said that we believe in the right of persons with functional limitations, including those with disabilities and the elderly, to access all information through applications and electronic services, according to Qatar Tribune.
Mada Center supports, develops and implements digital platforms in line with international standards of digital access, consultancy and capacity building of partners, and (Shawreeni) application from the Aman Center comes as a result of cooperation in this area.
An expert team is involved in the process of consulting, studying and preparing a response, and a number of psychological experts from Weyak Association and a number of jurists from the Association of lawyers to contribute to counseling through the app.
Aman has signed cooperation protocols with both the Weyak Association and the Lawyers Association, and both associations have nominated a number of specialists and consultants to provide their services according to a specific mechanism for distributing consultancy by specialization.
