Research shows that smartphone user check their phones every 12 minutes or so. A typical smartphone user is hooked to the phone for about 2-3 hours a day on average, keeping their fingers and eyes busy tapping away at a thin sheet of glass.

So what is it about those screens that is so significant that they can captivate the attention of millions, if not billions already, around the globe? It is the piece of hardware where the human interacts with the machine and, hence, it is one of the most studied and developed piece of hardware of a smartphone.

So it is no wonder that phone manufacturers are capitalizing on developing screens with minimal bezels, maximum resolution and customizable features that let the users craft their perfect on-screen experiences.

HUAWEI is one such phone maker that is currently dominating the development of superior quality screens with all latest features and technology. This is evident on Huawei’s recently released and highly sought-after model, Mate 20.

Design

HUAWEI Mate 20 is built with a full vibrant display to highlight its pure beauty.

The Mate 20 sports a massive 6.53” RGBW HDR display that produces beautifully crisp and vibrant images. Its glass finish and curved edges make it “display-first” in design, and in order to maximize the amount display area, Huawei adopted a beautiful dewdrop notch for the top bezel. The notch houses the front facing camera sensor and takes up as little space as possible.

The result is a display with just 12 percent bezel, and if the notch isn’t for you, don’t worry – Huawei’s software allows you to hide the notch from sight.

Customization

Huawei allows numerous customization features to its users. Users can make critical adjustments to screen settings, activating features like an eye comfort mode to filter blue light, color temperature controls and the ability to adjust screen temperature to match the ambient light color. This makes a big impact on everything from reading emails to editing photos.

The screen has the same RGBW underlying matrix as the Mate 10 and delivers superb brightness. It's HDR10-certified, too, and supports the larger DCI-P3 color space. The screen of the Mate 20 has two color modes - Normal and Vivid. Each of those also has three sub-modes: default, Warm, and Cold.

Brightness

While activating features like comfort mode to reduce strain on your eyes and make browsing safer, activating Vivid mode on peak brightness can ensure that you can still use your device in bright sunlight (the 820 nits guarantees it) or bring out the best details in a photo when posting it on social media. Considering the handset sports a Full HD+ resolution of 1080x2244, you have a screen that lusters bright and packs depth in in its colors.

Max out the screen, Max out the fun

In this day and age, having a good quality display is a basic aspect of any smartphone. A powerful chipset may render great graphics and ensure a smooth performance, but without an excellent display, the users won’t be satisfied.

Appreciatively, there is no chance of this when it comes to using the HUAWEI Mate 20. With is sleek LCD panel, this device will make it even harder for you to pull away. Huawei’s installed a new screen-time management app to keep us in check.
