Entrepreneurs showcase business projects at QBIC Demo Day
Building on the success of Qatar Business Incubation Centre’s (QBIC) first “LeanStartup Programme,” entrepreneurs selected from the programme will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of judges.
Prior to demo day, QBIC had organised groundwork oriented-action programmes for entrepreneurs who successfully completed the LeanStartup programme to begin building the skills and techniques needed to pitch their business ideas to the judges.
Upon completion of the presentations, the various projects will undergo a thorough evaluation process whereby the selected winners will be given the opportunity to have their business ideas incubated by QBIC.
QBIC will provide a range of globally-benchmarked services, designed in partnership with leading entrepreneurial experts, to fulfil entrepreneurs’ demands.
These include office space, industrial workshops, administrative, technical, and financial support.
QBIC will also provide an integrated and supportive environment for entrepreneurs from the idea stage until they graduate as “capable” and “viable” projects.
QBIC entrepreneurs use the globally-renowned “Business Model Canvas” to develop their business models and the Customer Validation & Development Model to validate how effectively their business models serve customers.
Participants showed their enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their projects to the judging panel during demo day and lauded the LeanStartup programme, which provided them with needed skills and increased their confidence and ability to sell and refine their business ideas.
The mixed use incubator is part of a wider public and government push to support and encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to build and grow businesses.
QBIC was founded by two of Qatar’s leading government institutions supporting local entrepreneurs: Qatar Development Bank and the Social Development Centre, a member of Qatar Foundation.
QBIC’s goal is to develop the next QR100mn companies and success stories in Qatar.
