Qatar’s handball team earns a valuable point against Tunisia
IHF World Championships runners-up Qatar fought hard to rescue a point against Tunisia in their Group A league match at the Rio Olympic Games on Thursday.
Rafael Capote proved to be Qatar’s star player, slamming in 12 goals during the match.
Qatar bounced back spectacularly after losing to France 20-35 in their second game in the tournament.
The match was largely an equal contest. Tunisia took the lead late in the first half and held it through to the last three minutes. But in the end, Qatar grabbed the momentum to record a draw.
Qatar, in search of an historic medal at the Olympic Games, will next face Denmark on Saturday.
