Why the talent competition WHO'S GOT TALENT cancelled/postponed by the RedCarpet Event Management Team as posted in their facebook. It was not a free of cost competition. They charged from each contestant. Please share your experience.
Hi Jumrat! Once again thank you for opening the same topic like last time. As i've posted in your previous topic also regarding Red Carpet's Who's Got Talent, here's a copy for your reference and for everyone as well...
Good day!
In behalf of the Red Carpet team, I would like to thank you all very much for all your comments, we appreciate them.
In behalf also of all the contestants, we would like to share with you the following details:
- first of all Who's Got Talent? is not cancelled, it was POSTPONED after the junior competitions, succeeding schedules - senior competitions, semi-finals & grand finale have been finalized long time ago, but due to the following reasons, despite the fact the we've finalized everything already, it was still our pleasure to accommodate the feedbacks and adjust everything:
1. we've actually moved schedules a couple of times to
adjust to the school priorities of the students and also work schedules of the senior participants;
2. some parents requested for more judges;
3. we received requests to extend the auditions to give consideration to talented participants who live out of doha;
4.some of the scheduled junior participants did not make it to the competitions which we wanted to give consideration since the paid QR30
- yes we collected QR30 for each act, and for the parents who were very willing to pay even double for their kids to be able to perform 2 acts, we asked them to just please choose one act where their kids are best
- QR30 will cover 2 tickets for the grand finale which was supposed to be last May 3, Doha cinema had long been paid reservation fee for that day and also ICC for the competition dates, we'd like to thank both venues for not charging us penalties in postponing the event
- we did the launching of WGT at the Best Western Hotel, invited all the participants and their families & friends and we served buffet dinner for everyone at our own cost to show our appreciation of their participation
- winner for junior category and senior category gets a prize of QR10,000 each
- as of this moment, as much as we want to push through with the event, we had to start all over again with the scheduling of everyone involved, the production requirements and the venues.
Each and every participant were completely informed and updated. For those who have further questions about WGT, you may call us directly through 44761777 or 44761888 and just the same, we will be glad to assist you in anyway.

Haha.. Getting charged for a talent competition should have started the alarm bells ringing
where is this suppose to be held ?
If they charged for entry..then it must be a "we got talent" contest :-/
