Today I was walking with my friend at the mall and saw this really cool rainbow shirt I wanted to buy and my friend looked at me like o: went!!! THIS IS THE COOLOR OF THE PRO-GAY PPL!!! )-: and then I got embarrassed and just walked out of the store!!!!!

I am not trying to offend any one! BUT why GAY people did stole our lovely and inexplicable childhood favorite colors of rainbow! It's symbol of beauty power and imagination from the rest of this world?!?!?! :/
It's soo NOT FAIR!!!

@MN....well to be quite honest with u, u r free to wear whatever ur heart pleases just as long as ur ok with ANY association ur attire may cause...in reality sometimes u r and sometimes ur not

If for example u wore a Maroon jump suite some ppl might say "Ah ur rooting for the national team?" not that Maroon is "owned" by Qatar but it's a common association here...and most ppl r ok with that association...Likewise if u wore a Giant Sock suite "hehehehe" ppl might think ur mind is off the charts...that association most ppl wouldnt wanna make

In ur case rainbow colors r "commonly" associated with Gay Pride...if ur ok with the association u go right ahead

Lol Brit.

If you don't like clothes associated with gayness that would rule out these gay designers:

Dolce and Gabbana

Pierre Cardin

Yves Saint Laurent

Karl Lagerfeld

Giorgio Armani

D Squared

Christian Dior

Tom Ford

Marc Jacobs

Calvin Klein

Who have I missed out?

As someone who experienced the end of the hippie era.. I didn't and still don't associate the flag with gayness. And even if it was the case, why should it stop you ?

Would you stop wearing a Lacoste shirt ?

the poor creatures...

these are fresh water gouramis no?

hope they didn't inject them with colorant to look like this: that's animal cruelty.

they are too crowded and afraid to pack alltoghether in this 2 vitrine aquarium.

Well frankly I wouldn't worry about having to print "straight." you live in a part of the world where it's perfectly acceptable for men to hold hands and drive pink landcruisers and motorcycles and you don't label them as gay.

Also, there's nothing wrong with being seen as promoting equality and diversity.

It's mixed. The rainbow is painted on the gray shirt.

If it's done in shades of gray, how is it a rainbow?

Well here is what I’m gonna do then. I’m going to buy that rainbow done in shades of gray shirt and under the rainbow stripes I’m gonna write (STRAIGHT). :P

The Rainbow Flag is an international symbol of inclusiveness and acceptance of diversity and is used by Buddhists, Kabbalha, the Italian peace movement, The European cooperative Society and countless other groups. It's simply best known as the symbol for LGBT rights. Considering that it's a symbol for inclusiveness, I don't see how they hijacked it or stole it.

BRIT: It was actually originally a Hippie's sign for (all inclusiveness) including people of many colours , cultures, religions etc

But obviously the movements for inclusive harmony were not nearly as necessary or critical as the movement for getting gay men and women the RIGHTS THEY DESERVE! Under man-made laws so the symbol quickly was hijacked (LITREALLY STOLEN) to represent gay and gay fashion and gay businesses.

NM/ Dames / Fatimah: The Thing is I feel slightly cheated that I can’t be that colorful without feeling that I’m making a statement ):

Just wear what you like, and be who you are. Surely actions speak louder than words and ummm..clothes!

Though I must add, personally, as far as fashion goes, I don't quite like the whole rainbow look and would prolly issue my husband some ultimatums should he try to wear any rainbow hued shirts!

Pro or anti gay, who cares? If you like the shirt just simply buy it! Heck with what your friend think about it... Then it's FAIR!

@britexpat Many. It is a common knowledge maybe because people see it on the net.

I wonder how many people actually associate the colours of the rainbow with being gay ?

MN It seems that people can't like the colors of the rainbow anymore without being associated with what it represents.

That's what you get for being anti gay...:P
