What’s happening Doha ?

Looks like Doha is on fire this month. Fire breakouts, false alarms going off in the middle of the night and scaring the crap out of tour residents, and cars catching on fire everywhere in the city.

I have been in Doha for almost 3 years never have I experienced such intensity of fire accidents like the tragitites that’s been taking place in past couple of days.

What’s happening Doha ?

"We"? Brit, you cannot speak for everybody. Some people are concerned about many things happening around the globe (Greenpeace), for example. It is sad that it has to happen in the neighborhood to draw attention. (While at the same time more than 20 children (!) die from hunger in Africa daily!

We only care when things affect us directly or those who we can empathise with. The tragedy of the triplets has galvanised the expat community and given them a common purpose, we will soon go on our summer vacations and things will be normal when we come back.. Nothing much will Change. :0(

They said that this is the 2nd worst tragedy... the 1st one was the 50 sub con workers living in a floating accommodation and it sank most of them drowned.... it was back in 2009 and I never read it nor heard about it

Change is media, first we were not receiving this much reports/news about these accidents, now we have access.. this is the only difference..
