waiting for the movie my name is khan & veer

veer is dumb flop film is see it last friday on cenima.....

Jis kisi ne bhi khela taqseem kar diya mujhey....

I saw Veer yesterday on Thursday.It is just a very ordinary film much hyped by producers in the media encashing Salman's star value. The storyline is very weak, rather boring with a poor screenplay. Salman shadows everything in the movie and is constantly cautious of his stardom. For a non-fan of Salman like me he is just another bollywood actor with undue tantrums all along. New face Zarine is very beautiful with a charming look and creamy complexion. Some crazy & callous people feel she resembles to Katrina. Mithun is constantly overacting and boring wearing a tired & very haggard look! At places movie loses out its tempo and drags through. All bollywood masala has been used. Like - Huge palacial sets, expensive glamorous costumes, Foreign locales (England in this case), an artificial historical colour to the story, family values, feudal practices and so on... Overall it is a below average movie and would flop on box office!

Ok I am off to watch Veer now. Every review is calling it a huge flop so not hoping for much but someone informed me after buying the tickets so I am stuck with it tonight. Will post later my review here..

I wish VEER should be a hit movie, but unfourtanately its flop, I lve salman because he is good humanbeing than a good actor,And ofcourse he is the best buddy of ranchoo. And MY NAME IS KHAN will be ultimate floooooop.

I hate SRK films because of his Attitude And overacting.

But I Liked CHAK DE INDIA.

shahrukh's smartness and wit overshadows that of other contemporary stars..

he may not be a very good actor like amir or handsom like salman..but he certainly attracts the highest female fan following because of his personality and character.

Well, I beg to differ.....Amir is more versatile when it comes to acting. Shahrukh is good but kind of Type Actor...no offense to shahrukh lovers...just my thoughts :-)

Jack, you are right about Priyadarshan.The guy thinks acting is equivalent to shouting at the top of your voice. & Soniya, I almost forgot kites in my list. Lets see what hrithik & anurag basu have up their sleeves. Talking about hrithik, gujarish by sanjay leela bhansali is due this year as well.

Hera Pheri killed Priyadarshan.....you should see some of his mallu movies done long back....gems...now all he does is remake it in Hindi with a Bihar/UttarPradesh environment... what a sucker...lol

My husband has to literally beg me to see any new movies..I can't go for all that releases in a year..Infact many of the last year movies r yet unseen by me..

well to tell u very frankly, ROCKET SINGH indeed was the gud movie but got over shadowed coz of 3idiots n avtar.

I m not at all a PRIYADARSHAN fan..He was ok or say was in his best state of mind till HERA PHERI part 1 but he failed to giggles us in its second part and with other movies after that..

And yes, i truly agreed with u that all flop movies r really not bad..Infact i have found them better then the biggies..

Even Rocket Singh was declared a flop....just because it got released with 3idiots and Aavtar...it just never managed a good opening collection.

Also when a new better movie is comming the theater wouldnt want to continue a small budget movie.

And for the record I hated De Dhana Dhan...although it made me laugh at a lot of scenes....

And I am never ever going to see a Priyadarshan film ...he has lost the art of filmmaking....just making masala movies with his same old recipe!

Mr.Jack, u seems to be a MOVIE BUFFER !!! DULHA MIL GAYA is already released now and it has been declared as FLOP and critics have criticised much abt SUSHMITA SEN..I can't hide my patience to watch ISHQIYAN, KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK and KITES...

Shahrukh n kajol makes the best couple on screen...

hmm abt veer its normal movie i think i will not be b blockbuster..

I am not excited about either of them. I think veer is going to be a ridiculous movie (another one from Anil "Gadar" Sharma) & looks like my name is khan is again a story catering to NRIs with karan johar brand of depicting sugar-coated "reality".

I would rather wait for movies like ishqiya & karthik calling karthik.

Zareen Khan does look like Katrina...except the height. Her face is not round...actually she had to put on some weight as per her role's demand in Veer.

Rann – Starring Big B,Paresh Rawal, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sudeep, Manisha Koirala, Rajat Kapoor, Gul Panag, Raima Sen among others, Rann promises to be a strong political drama directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Rann is about how powerful the role of media is in today’s world. The film is slated to be released on 22nd January 2010.

Ishqiya – Ishqiya is a forthcoming Hindi film that stars Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles. Produced by Raman Maroo and Vishal Bharadwaj and directed by debutante Abhishek Chaubey. Set in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the movie is a tale of romance between individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion and deceit. The movie is scheduled to release on 29 January 2010....ok this is just for Vidya Balan ...

Teen Patti – Starring two acting legends Amitabh and Oscar winning Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley, Teen Patti is an emotionally riveting and razor sharp thriller. Set in India and England, the film revolves around greed, deception and imagination. The film is directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Ambika Hinduja under her banner Serendipity Films.. The film is slated to be released in February 2010

Karthik Calling Karthik – stars Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in the lead. KCK is believed to be a psychological thriller. Farhan Akhtar’s character in the film is apparently shown to be solving Rubik’s cube throughout the film. Music for KCK is by Shankar-Loy-Ehsaan and the movie is directed by Vijay Lalwani.The film is slated to be released on 26th February 2010

Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge – Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge?’ is based on noted satirist Sharad Joshi’s short story. The story is about an unwanted guest, Paresh Rawal, who enters the household of a married couple, played by Ajay and Konkona Sen Sharma, and lives for a long time by continuously extending his stay. So much so that the couple is exasperated and starts praying for his exit. The film is slated to be released in 26th February 2010

Koochie Koochie Hota Hain – Animation movie based on the hit movie “kuch kuch hota hai”. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This movie is slated to be released in the summer of 2010.

Peter Gaya Kaam Se – Starring Rajeev Khandelwal,Lekha Washington, Proshantt Narayanan, Vijay Maurya & Vijay Raaz and directed by John Owen. This movie will release on the 12th Feb, 2010.

Season’s Greetings – This movie stars Tabu, Shreyas Talpade, Sohail Khan, Vatsal Seth and Javed Jaffery among others.

Paan Singh Tomar – is an epic journey of a talented athelete who turns into a rebel terrorizing the Chambal Valley. Starring Irrfan Khan and Mahi Gill in the lead, this movie is scheduled to release on Feb 26,2010.

Kites – is the much awaited Bollywood film directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Rakesh Roshan that will star Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut and Luce Rains. Salman is good in comic roles...he was good in Khamoshi...and also Mujse Shadi Karoge...he has to get a good director...

Both movies r not gonna to be a block buster...secondly, i don't think SHAHRUKH would be able to do justice with the role that he has got in MY NAME IS KHAN..I forgot the name of the disease that hez going thru in that movie...He can't match AAMIR's performance in any way...so better watch these movies at home on DVD rather then wasting ur PRECIOUS MONEY on theatre...

I have a feeling that Veer is going to be a superflop....

...the costumes & sword look impressive though!

And I have my reservations about My name is Khan after all there have been movies on the subject.

Rocket Singh .....is also a good movie.....working people might identify with the character....the office politics & environment....especially those who have got a raw deal from their bosses....or who have bosses who abuse/insult their staff.

I love the scene where he tells his boss he will buy the bosses' company...(from his own office telephone)...lol
