Just today, I had my lunch at Thai Snack (Thai restaurant in Al Mirqab quite close to Doha Clinic). Let us all admit that their food is very good however, their service is really frustrating. They do not have the concet of CUSTOMER SERVICE. 1. Waiter looks pissed off while taking my order.2. Since Ive seen a Wifi on the premises, I have asked for a password politely assuming that the resto gives free access to their customers. The waiter replied, "If you give me 1,000, i'll give you the password." And I said, "Sorry?" He replied, " Not allowed!" And I answered, "oh, ok no problem, thank you!"3. After finishing my meal, I havent spotted any waiters so I voluntarily headed to the cashier and paid for my bill. The cashier and the waiter who served on my table didnt bother to attend to me. I said, "I wanted to pay my bill." The cashier furiously asked, "What's the table number?" I said, Im sorry I do not know but you can ask your waiter whose beside me in which table number I was. I asked the waiter beside me and he didnt respond. The cashier furiously asked me again, and I answered annoyingly, " I do not know, you should ask your waiter" And the cashier kept on arguing with me. I told him, "You know what, your food is delicious but your service and the way you treat your customers is very bad!" And he arrogantly answered. " I dont care! You are only 1 customer, I dont care!" I replied, " What is the point of having this business if you dont respect your customers?" He started shouting "I dont care, get out of here!" This is the worst and most RUDE restaurant I have been to, and I am not going to patronize their food anymore. And this is not my first time to go to this resto. Ive been in Doha for 4 years now and have visited them many times!
Hot Chicken. Just because I have the ability to customize the hell out of my plate...And it's dirt cheap too. Therefore more food, less hunger. I like the Indian cuisine in general. But I don't want to go to a fancy restaurant and pay 50 riyals for a Paneer.
Also I can customize the hell out of my juices. I once ordered an avocado with banana, kiwi, grapes, pineapple, no mango, no sugar, and no milk. And the guy actually did what I asked. Instead of saying "I'm sorry sir, AKA go @#$% yourself" lol
The name of the restaurant was 'ciao'? If so, then how inovative of the owners ... I'm sure it's pretty obvious to everyone, but it just struck me that CIAO is pronounced CHOW (as in food).
hey thx guys but i love italian food (u know pizzas and macaronie) :P so i went to ciao, great place great atmosphere and perfect service ! and around 30 qr is enough

I'd recommend the Moon Palace (on Mirqab Street) or Korean Garden restaurant (next to Ramada Junction). These are two Korean restaurants. You could order some basic dishes for QR30 but nothing fancy. It's an OK place to hang out.
If you are talking about the same Qutba what I know somewhere near Souq.. (forgive me, I am still not wel versed with locations).. Then it is a pakistani food; gr8 food and within 30QR.
..**.. ""They walk among us. They vote & they even reproduce"" ..**..
you will have to try the small restuarants in the suburbs...like Qutba in Mansoura... its got quite a nice atmosphere... and you can probably eat for less than 30QR per person....
If you stretch your budget a bit then you could try the Al-Shami Restaurant. It's opp the road from Toys R Us. It's very nice inside and the service is good. They even have highchairs for the little ones!

Thai Snacks or Thai Smile are good and they could fit your budgets. Some of my coworkers prefer Thai Smile to Thai Snacks but I find both good.
Also, there is a Filipino's restaurent in the Centre that has similar price ranges are good as well.

You may see me there as I'm often dragged there!

of indian and arabic.... the food is very tasty.. I use Qutba for all my outdoor catering requirements.

is the only good place that can suit a low budget of QR30.

30QR does not go far for special, 30QR is a cheap place
well the thing is, every month one of us (we are 4) invite all the others to a restaurant, (we are 17...if you want to know...and i'm not little :P)
anyway, i'm serious, Don't mcdonalds, burger king or shawarma .... i want just a special place for some buddies to hang...

It also depends on the person's perception of best.. is best - what sexi is talking about the ambience / crowd or food.
As for the best restaurant with QR30/- for food... No idea
..**.. ""They walk among us. They vote & they even reproduce"" ..**..
you can get a bowl of noodle soup for QR 15 and ice longan for QR 3 in Thai Snack down the Al Mirqab street.
For that price.. I recommend McDonalds... LOL
I dont think there are any very special restaurant for 30 riyals. Almost all of them cost about 60+
It's always the small things that make big differences.
