House and Trance are not subgenres.. they're distinct styles by themselves, for each got it's own subgenres (tribal house, funky house, uplifting trance, tech trance, progressive..) try using google or wikipedia they might help you get more info ;)

Same basic time Signature, but Trance has a faster BPM and replaces the funky/soulful sound with a more Synthetic one.

Theres nothing over technical about it.

Many DJ'S mix the two together, infact I'm sure someones already invented another sub genre, just to be elitist.

MattyHardingLower: no need to turn this topic into a technical debate but Trance is a whole distinct style of EDM both technically and emotionally! it's a very well known fact.. your accepting or denying this fact simply wont change the truth!

PS: i advise you not to repeat your statement and mixing House with Trance or any other sort of EDM style because it's you my friend who would be labeled as the ignorant! ;)

Tiesto....is a House Icon..call it what you will ( cos it's all about the house)....I like the Intercon venue, but please,dont get greedy. We all know " your'e going to smash the prices up". You are making your name on good value for money, keep it that way.

The board of the annual International Dance Music Awards at the famous Winter Music Conference in Miami has nominated Tiësto for six different categories.

The IDMA nominations cover six disciplines: Best Artist, Best Global DJ, Best European DJ, Best Podcast, Best Full Length DJ Mix and Best Progressive Trance Track.

Tiësto is very happy with the good news: 'The mere fact that the IDMA has nominated me for these six important fields of my work is a tremendous honor for me.
